While based in Texas, our attorneys and consultants service client needs across state, national, and continental lines. We represent developers / sponsors, investors, lenders, and insurers in all matters relating to the development, ownership, and operation of clean and renewable generation resources (including solar, wind, biomass, biogas, algae, geothermal, tidal, and CHP resources).
Our attorneys are recognized in their respective fields for the quality of their work and the extensive knowledge they possess. As such, our attorneys frequently are guest lecturers to fellow attorneys and to business executives on a broad range of clean and renewable energy issues: from tax law updates to finance structures, from contract liquidated damages to municipal generation development.
Our consultants generally are based in the communities in which they perform their work (except for our finance consultants). They have excellent and long-standing relations with their communities—the very places in which our clients seek to develop and do business. With local boots on the ground, our consultants are able to connect our clients with the appropriate decision makers while avoiding the risks of a frosty reception or of unnecessary red tape.
Even as our legal and consulting teams operate in a very niche industry, we break our team members further into separate practice groups. We demand that each team member have an encyclopedic knowledge of the work of her or his specific practice group. Each attorney typically practices in one or two practice groups. Our practice groups, as may be found in the “Practice Areas” tab of our site, are broken into the following categories: developer / sponsor services; investor and lender services; county, municipality, and school district services; utility services, and policy and regulatory support. Our consultants typically are assigned only to one practice group, wherein they in tandem with the attorneys on almost all matters to serve as something akin to interpreters or liaisons between the business and legal needs of our clients.
